Jack Miller is an author of thrillers, science fiction, and horror — stories that live at the intersection of technology, folklore, and the human instinct to look away from what frightens us most.
A native of upstate New York, Miller spent years working in healthcare administration before turning to fiction full-time. That experience — watching institutions manage their reputations as carefully as their patients — gave him the material for Vital Lies: Echoes Rising, his debut medical thriller.
His writing is character-driven but never slow. Readers describe his books as the kind you finish in two sittings because you can't find a good place to stop.

Writing Philosophy
Miller writes from a simple premise: the most terrifying things are the ones that are almost normal. A hospital that quietly covers up deaths. A technology platform that rewires how people think. A legend that turns out to be a feature, not a bug.
He's interested in systems — how institutions work, how power circulates, how ordinary people become complicit in extraordinary harm. Each book asks a question he genuinely doesn't know the answer to before he starts writing. The story is the process of finding out.
Inspirations
Stephen King taught him that horror is never really about the monster. Michael Crichton showed him that science, explained clearly, is more unsettling than any supernatural invention. Thomas Harris proved that the most compelling villain is the one who makes a kind of sense.
Outside of fiction, he reads widely in anthropology, technology ethics, and Indigenous history — the last of which became the foundation for The Sagamore, his most personal book to date.
The Music Connection
Music has always been the other half of Miller's creative process. Every book has a score running beneath it — thematic playlists, atmospheric compositions, sounds that set the mood before the words find their shape.
Original music is coming. Not soundtracks in the conventional sense — more like the ambient texture of the worlds he builds. Cinematic. Atmospheric. Built from the same emotional materials as the prose.
